Grooming Terms and Conditions

Paw L’amour – Grooming Terms & Conditions

1. Appointment Bookings

All grooming services are provided by appointment only. Appointment times are reserved specifically for your dog to ensure the highest quality of care.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.

2. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a £15 cancellation fee to cover the loss of the reserved appointment slot.

If you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, your appointment may be cancelled and a £15 no-show fee may apply.

To cancel or reschedule, please call the salon directly where possible.

3. Late Arrivals

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to complete the full grooming service. In this case:

  • The appointment may be rescheduled, or

  • A reduced service may be provided at the groomer's discretion.

4. Aggressive or Difficult Dogs

Owners must inform us before the appointment if their dog has shown signs of:

  • aggression

  • biting

  • anxiety during grooming

If a dog becomes aggressive or unsafe to handle, Paw L’amour reserves the right to stop the grooming session immediately. The owner will still be responsible for payment of the service completed.

5. Fleas

If fleas are discovered during grooming:

  • A flea treatment bath will be given immediately

  • A £10–£15 flea charge may apply

This is necessary to protect other dogs in the salon.

6. Matted Coats

Dogs with severely matted coats may require shaving for humane reasons.

Matting can cause skin irritation, bruising, or cuts during removal. By booking a grooming appointment, you acknowledge these risks.

Additional dematting or shaving fees may apply depending on coat condition.

7. Health & Vaccinations

Owners must ensure their dog is fit and healthy for grooming.

Please inform us if your dog has:

  • medical conditions

  • skin issues

  • recent surgery

  • anxiety or behavioural concerns

We reserve the right to decline grooming services if we believe it may cause distress or harm to the dog.

8. Accidents & Emergencies

While every care is taken, grooming equipment is sharp and dogs may move unexpectedly.

In the rare event of an injury or medical emergency, Paw L’amour will seek veterinary care if necessary. Any veterinary costs resulting from pre-existing conditions or behavioural issues may be the owner’s responsibility.

9. Photo & Media

We may take photos or videos of dogs for social media and marketing purposes.

If you do not wish your dog to appear in promotional material, please inform us before the appointment.

10. Payment

Payment is required upon collection of your dog.

We accept card and cash payments.

11. Personal Belongings

Please avoid bringing personal items such as collars, leads, or toys unless necessary. Paw L’amour cannot guarantee responsibility for personal items left at the salon.
